Primary Function of Role
This position facilitates the coordination of safety for SEC’s projects: Assists in conducting safety inspections and audits; Assists in monitoring job safety progress at job sites; Facilitates the enforcement of the requirements of SEC’s Construction Safety Manual, Health and Safety Plan and Contract Safety Specifications; Also works with supervisors and employees to help create and maintain a safe environment on job sites and employer property to help keep employees safe; assists with safety and security certification documentation and generates reports regarding project safety.
Principal Responsibilities and Activities
- Monitor safety regulations for changes and revise the Construction Safety Manual, contract specifications, and other documents to ensure compliance
- Develop and conduct safety training programs for SEC personnel, including OSHA-related safety requirements
- Conduct accident investigations and prepare written accident investigation reports for the Safety Director
- Compile, analyze, and interpret accident statistical data and prepare reports to communicate this information
- Crew Observations with Safety Coordinator
- Capture “coach-able moments” for weekly call discussions
- Assist the Safety Coordinator in the event of elevated concerns
- Review Weekly Reports & elevate concerns to Ops management as appropriate
- Schedule, assist, or delegate onboarding
- Review progress for your team to complete Field Level training
- Monitor Annual Safety/Training plan progress.
- Coordinate training needs with Training Team
- Performance Reviews
- Host Weekly team calls
- Attend customer meetings as appropriate
- Support and develop your coordinators
- Select, interview, and submit potential candidates for hire
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of electrical construction/maintenance experience; Any OSHA certificates /qualification training
