Quanta VP, CEO of SERVICE ELECTRIC Company –
Before Mr. Shea became the Vice President of Quanta, he was the CEO of Service Electric Company for over 23 years. Lineman Hall of Fame, 2019.
Mr. Shea is a US Army Veteran where he began his career in Powerline Construction and Maintenance. During and after his time in the military, he went on to become a Journeyman Lineman. Later he worked in the industry holding several positions from Journeyman to Foreman on up to Vice President. In 1997, he began the process to purchase SERVICE ELECTRIC Company based in Chattanooga TN and, with the help of a lot of great people, grew this company to be a major player in the electric utility market. In 1997 SERVICE ELECTRIC Company had 14 employees with one office while today it employs over 1500 with 7 offices throughout the Southeast and Mid-West. In April of 2012, SERVICE ELECTRIC Company was acquired by Quanta Services. Mr. Shea operated as President/CEO of SERVICE ELECTRIC Company until 2016 when he then became the Regional Vice President of the Southeastern US for Quanta Services. Later, in 2017, he was promoted to the Sr. Vice President position that he still holds today. He also remains as CEO of SERVICE ELECTRIC Company to date. Mr. Shea holds multiple state licenses in the Electrical and General Contractor fields.
During his career he has held several positions with the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) such as: Board Member and Governor of Southeast Line Constructors Chapter NECA, National NECA Workforce Development Board Member, Southeast Line Construction Apprenticeship Training (SELCAT) Board Member, National Apprenticeship Committee Board Member, Member of the Council on Industrial Relations (CIR) where today he is the Co-Chairman, Line Construction Benefit Fund (LINECO) Board member and currently Chairman of that board. In 2015, SELCAT dedicated and named a Training Substation Facility in his honor. Mr. Shea was nominated into the Academy of Electrical Contracting in 2013 and Elected to the Academy Board of Directors in 2016. In 2018, Mr. Shea was inducted into the Lineman Hall of Fame. In 2018, Mr. Shea was elected as Vice President of the NECA District 10 representing all NECA Contractors performing outside line work throughout the US beginning this position January 1, 2019.
